Requirements

12+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years at the senior engineering leadership level
Ability to perform the job of most individual contributors on the team (hands-on leader)
Proven success scaling high-performance infrastructure and/or data systems at tech-forward companies
Hands-on familiarity with AWS, K8s, and Databricks
Proven track record and passion for moving fast and building successful products from scratch
Passion for building, mentoring, and leading engineering teams, including hiring and setting office culture
Strong understanding of modern AI-assisted developer tools and how to leverage them at scale
Innate curiosity and continuous learning mindset, staying on top of emerging technologies

Responsibilities

Lead Tubi’s Infrastructure and Data Engineering teams in building scalable, resilient systems for a streaming platform serving over 100 million users globally (technical hands-on leadership)
Act as the executive sponsor of the Toronto office, responsible for growth, talent, culture, technical excellence, and alignment with global engineering and business functions (site leadership)
Hire, mentor, and develop engineering leaders and individual contributors; collaborate with recruiting to attract top-tier talent and raise the performance bar
Champion the adoption of modern AI-native development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) and embed AI workflows to boost productivity and code quality
Establish engineering best practices, rapid experimentation, and maintain high code quality and reliability (operational excellence)
Work closely with business teams across Tubi and AdRise in the US and Canada to align priorities, execute product vision, and support Toronto’s hiring plan (cross-functional partnership)
