Requirements

Responsibilities

The VP, Communications will serve as the chief storyteller for Upwork, shaping and driving the integrated communications strategy across internal and external efforts to amplify the company's mission, vision, and growth. This role involves developing and owning a measurable communications strategy, defining the company's voice, and uniting stakeholders around the future vision, while articulating Upwork's transformative role in the age of AI. Key responsibilities include translating AI-driven innovation into compelling narratives, leading an executive visibility program, overseeing global PR and media outreach, developing and implementing a metrics-driven growth strategy, leading financial-market messaging, designing internal communications for employee engagement and alignment, building and scaling a high-performing communications team, and measuring/optimizing communications impact.
