Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Computer Science, or relevant area
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Motion Capture projects, technology and VFX
  • Comfortable utilizing a mix of technologies, including but not limited to lidar, motion capture, LED walls, VR, photogrammetry
  • Must be able to execute technically difficult work and maintain a productive attitude under the pressure of a live action production environment
  • Advanced knowledge of on-set digital acquisition hardware
  • Knowledge of real time rendering and Unreal Engine
  • Advanced knowledge of still photography, film, and video production
  • Advanced knowledge of practical lighting on film stages
  • Advanced knowledge of camera tracking and operating systems
  • Programming skills in Python and/or C++ is a plus
  • Creative technical problem solver, able to improvise quick fix solutions and tools if necessary in time sensitive pressure situations
  • Ability to travel to onset locations globally

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and validate capture data quality standards during VC shoots, flagging issues as needed
  • Track camera inventory and maintenance status
  • Test and QC Volume capture systems following established workflows
  • Assist in assembling and modifying the physical Volume
  • Prepare the stage for client, production, and processing requirements
  • Ensure equipment upkeep and correct setup, calibration, and routing of video signals
  • Perform Lidar VC stage calibrations and integrate them into the processing pipeline
  • Perform camera tracking and calibrations via Motive and Optitrak and integrate into the processing pipeline
  • Ensure shoot-derived data and reference materials are stored correctly, and meet quality standards before handover to software, editorial, and research teams
  • Communicate effectively with the team and proactively report concerns to the relevant team
