Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from a four-college or university and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training, along with working knowledge of Messaging Protocols like SMPP / SS7 / VPN / RCS, Working knowledge of Traffic Flows like P2P / A2P / P2A / OTP / Binary SMS / SMS Errors etc, and understanding of Traffic Quality KPIs (Quality & Cost). Experience in the telecom industry and messaging ecosystems, including familiarity with partners, carriers, and aggregators, is essential. Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies, along with experience with SQL Tables and server hardware technologies, is helpful.

Responsibilities

The SMS Network Engineer will maintain and optimize SMS routing strategies to ensure efficient message delivery and enhance QoS, perform integration efforts between roaming vendors and foreign carriers, manage the scheduling and deployment of changes to minimize service interruption, implement procedures for proactive testing of routing services utilizing established KPIs, review and analyze root cause analyses provided by vendors, monitor and analyze SMS traffic to identify and resolve performance issues, conduct abuse reviews to ensure compliance with regulations, troubleshoot complex messaging issues across various network technologies, ensure compliance with GSMA, ITU, 3GPP, and IEEE standards, collaborate with cross-functional teams to address messaging issues, assist with the development and integration of tools, host recurring meetings to review performance and discuss roadmaps, and perform other duties as required.
