Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience working in political campaigns; government offices such as Capitol Hill, Executive Branch agencies, major City/State government; strategic communications; media relations; advocacy; journalism; or a related field
  • Avid consumer of news, with a strong news sense and knowledge of the media
  • Experience engaging and maintaining strong relationships with key reporters covering top issues such as health equity, labor and economic justice, racial and gender equity, immigrant rights, climate justice and more
  • Experience engaging with media for both rapid response and long-lead stories
  • Based in New York, N.Y. or Washington, D.C. office on a hybrid basis (in-office at least 3 days per week)

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic conversations and advance the communications strategy for multiple high-profile client accounts to deliver results for clients
  • Develop and oversee integrated campaigns that leverage public affairs, earned media, paid media and digital tactics to reach key audiences and achieve client goals
  • Directly manage and mentor staff and provide overall strategic direction and feedback for their development and client work
  • Collaborate closely with the Impact management team to develop and inspire the team of strategists to be innovative and creative
  • Help the practice win new business and proactively expand relationships by leveraging existing network and identifying new opportunities
