Requirements

  • Relevant Vendor Relationship Management experience with demonstrable results and outcomes, including specialism in Vendor Relationship Management with strong commercial, risk management, analytical, and problem resolution skills (Desirable)
  • Excellent and demonstrable communication, relationship building, and stakeholder management skills (Essential)
  • Previous experience of Risk Management as a core component of role, with an eye for detail and ensuring full compliance with all Corporate and Business Unit level policies and procedures (Desirable)
  • Contracting experience, including working closely with legal teams to deliver Framework Agreements, core MSAs, and SOWs (Desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Act as the assigned Vendor Relationship Manager for key relationships, undertaking all required activities to comply with Capital One's Third Party Management Policy across the supplier life cycle (Due Diligence/Selection/Contracting/Onboarding/Monitoring/Offboarding)
  • Work alongside peers within SMO, including other Vendor Relationship Managers, Risk and Governance team, and Sourcing function
  • Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers and internal business stakeholders, managing an effective governance structure for communication and interaction
  • Build detailed knowledge of supplier’s business to establish credibility with stakeholders, deliver optimal service, and develop longer-term strategic paths for the category
  • Work closely with internal business customers to understand issues, continuous improvement suggestions, and new requirements, leading/facilitating discussions with suppliers to drive value
  • Build wider market knowledge and insight for the managed category of suppliers to evolve relationships and support category/supplier strategies
  • Serve as a proficient Contract Manager, managing suppliers per contract terms and liaising with legal teams for amendments, variations, renewals, and additions in line with policies and regulations
  • Ensure business goals are met through strong performance, risk, and relationship oversight of the extended supply chain, ensuring compliance with TPM policy and collaborating with internal teams
  • Travel to various Capital One and third-party sites as required
