Quartzy is seeking a Vendor Relations Manager to drive growth and efficiency by managing a portfolio of external vendors within their lab supply network. This role is crucial for managing nearly 400 companies and 15 million SKUs. Quartzy is a 100% distributed team, allowing this role to be performed from anywhere in the US.

About You

The ideal candidate is a science-minded problem solver with a passion for building relationships to support research. Previous experience in sales, category management, lab management, or purchasing, coupled with a strong understanding of lab logistics, is beneficial. Key attributes include being detail-oriented, tech-savvy, understanding distribution, and enjoying the cultivation of beneficial vendor partnerships.

  • Identify and implement enhancements to drive revenue and margin improvement.
  • Actively monitor, analyze, and report on the health of the vendor portfolio.

What You'll Do

  • Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors.
  • Ensure excellent service delivery from vendors.
  • Execute supplier marketing campaigns.
  • Build strong, profitable, and lasting vendor partnerships.
  • Improve cost of goods and margin trends by vendor.
  • Negotiate growth targets, strategies, and incentives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address process gaps, streamline operations, and facilitate integrations.
  • Own the resolution of escalated vendor cases/tickets.
  • Schedule and conduct vendor business reviews.
  • Manage data integrity between vendors, Quartzy, Salesforce, and Looker.
  • Oversee vendor catalog hygiene and optimization, including developing strategies for monitoring and improving content and performance gaps, such as de-duplication and list import standardization.
  • Deliver cross-system performance reports to leadership and stakeholders.

What We'd Like

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Science.
  • 4+ years of previous channel/vendor management, lab supply industry, or startup experience.
  • Supplier marketing experience, including relationship building and price negotiation.
  • Strong reporting capabilities with the ability to track performance and ROI at granular levels, providing insightful reports.
  • Expertise with Excel, Salesforce, and BI Tools (e.g., Looker).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • A "roll up your sleeves," can-do attitude.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: USD $80K - $115K + Performance Based Bonus. Pay is market-based and may vary by location, skills, experience, and internal parity.
  • Bonus Program: Eligible for the corporate bonus program (excluding sales, who have performance-based variable sales incentives).
