Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 months work history with the same employer
  • At least 6 months of machine operator experience
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Perform routine repetitive tasks
  • Read weights and scales accurately
  • Sufficient mathematical ability to perform calculations, plot data, and make statistically based decisions
  • Willingness to become certified to operate a pallet jack
  • Ability to vertically move products weighing 5 lbs. constantly and 20 lbs. occasionally
  • Exert forces of 10 lbs. frequently and grip forces of 17 lbs. frequently
  • Frequently lift 50 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
  • Walk up to 4 miles during the shift and work in extreme temperatures

Responsibilities

  • Assist in line start-up
  • Remove trash
  • Relieve line workers when necessary
  • Assist in line set-up prior to start-up
  • Stock packaging materials such as bags, boxes, strapping, tape, clips, etc
  • Fill in for line workers as necessary, packing and palletizing cases of cooked food products
  • Label boxes as needed
  • Notify supervisor and/or operation specialist if machinery is not operating properly
  • Maintain a clean work area and adhere to Tyson/USDA safety and sanitation rules
  • Utilize proper lifting techniques to avoid injury to yourself and others
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Operate pallet jack and perform other duties as required or assigned
  • Monitor and control key product control points such as weight, size, temperature, etc
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing
  • Complete on-the-job paperwork
  • Effectively communicate across all management levels
