Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on professional experience in utility locating procedures. A clean driving record is required, along with the ability to pass a background check and a drug test. Candidates must also be able to perform physical tasks for 8 or more hours, including carrying 40lbs or more, standing for prolonged periods, and crouching or kneeling. Additionally, candidates should be able to understand utility and civil drawings and blueprints.
The Utility Locator will conduct utility locating for gas and electric utilities with a strong emphasis on accuracy and quality of data collected. They will understand and interpret utility and civil drawings and blueprints, maintain a daily production rate of over 1,000 linear feet of utilities, and document and organize project correspondence such as field sketches, H&V controls, utility plans, and all field-related support data and permits.
