Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of produce and floral business operations, including floor and backroom processes, quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance
  • Expertise in managing seasonality (item volume, product knowledge, processes) and prioritizing time between areas
  • Proficiency with digital tools and handheld technology for sales planning, shopping experience improvement, associate engagement, production, training, and product quality decisions
  • Ability to supervise and lead a team of hourly associates, communicate goals, execute company programs, and adhere to policies
  • Skills in teaching, training, mentoring, and developing team members, identifying potential, and sourcing new talent internally and externally
  • Capability to collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, business partners, and other team leaders
  • Strong commitment to operational excellence, profitability, member service, ethics, integrity, and compliance with company policies and standards
  • Experience in analyzing information from multiple sources, monitoring progress, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing processes

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Produce and Floral team to deliver on the business plan and contribute to club success
  • Communicate department goals, execute company programs, adhere to policies, and advocate for members, associates, and the company
  • Work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the club meets member expectations
  • Maintain produce area standards for quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment, safety, and compliance
  • Manage seasonality, ensure team resources, share knowledge, and train associates
  • Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve shopping experience, elevate associate engagement, and make immediate business decisions
  • Drive business results, commit to operational excellence, plan for profitability, maintain neat, clean, safe work areas, ensure adequate staffing, accurate audits, compliance, and proper merchandise production/display
  • Teach, train, and develop team skills for high-quality products, encourage career growth, and source new talent
  • Develop, communicate, and implement processes by collaborating, analyzing data, monitoring results, and addressing improvements
  • Demonstrate, promote, and support compliance with policies, procedures, ethics, and integrity; use Open Door Policy and assist with corrections
  • Lead and participate in teams by sharing resources, determining needs/priorities, coordinating assignments, providing feedback, ensuring timelines/quality, and adapting to change
