Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Extensive experience in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, Javascript and familiarity with Node.js or Rust
  • Prior experience working on high-performing applications (highly desirable)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of system design and architecture and proven ability to contribute to architecture decisions
  • Excellent coding skills with a focus on quality, performance, scalability, and maintainability
  • Excellent issue triaging and troubleshooting skills to resolve critical production issues
  • Proven experience in a high-paced team environment, preferably working on Tier 0 products
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
  • Demonstrated ownership mentality with the ability to take responsibility for projects from inception to completion, ensuring all aspects are completed to high standards
  • Experience with version control systems like Git and with K8s and Docker or similar containerization and orchestration platforms
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience with cloud computing platforms like Google Cloud or Azure (plus)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently
  • Ability to understand best practices regarding system security measures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven track record of learning new technologies and skills on the job
  • Willingness to keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and apply them to the current projects
  • A positive and flexible attitude towards working in a rapidly changing and high-pressure environment
  • GraphQL experience (plus)

  • Design and build high-performance, distributed systems at massive scale
  • Work with teams across E-Commerce, Stores, and everything in between to make Walmart technology the fastest and most resilient in the industry
  • Lead and participate in medium to large scale, complex, cross-functional projects
  • Take complex problem domains, dissect them until they’re well understood, and deliver excellently engineered solutions
