Requirements

  • Ability to drive sales through effective merchandise presentation, including accurate pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, cleanliness, assessing trends, stocking/rotation, displays, and securing high-shrink items
  • Skills in leading and developing teams via teaching, training, active listening, touring stores, providing feedback, communicating/collaborating on operations, technology, merchandising, change efforts, and business objectives
  • Expertise in modeling exceptional customer service using the One Best Way (OBW) model, managing initiatives like store of the community, resolving issues, developing action plans, and providing process improvement leadership
  • Proficiency in supervising and developing hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, recognition, communication, and recruiting for staffing needs
  • Knowledge of loss prevention to control unexplained losses, improve profitability, set goals, build accountability, measure policy adherence, review variances/inventories, conduct audits, monitor trends, and implement corrections
  • Capability to detect, deter, investigate, and resolve policy violations and criminal activities, including fraud investigations, evidence gathering, statements, case reports, courtroom testimony, and partnering with investigative entities
  • Experience in monitoring safety and risk controls, supervising safety teams, identifying accident trends, implementing prevention solutions, observing practices, providing training, and overseeing safety reviews
  • Ability to manage facility-level training on asset protection, safety, claims, and receiving procedures, identifying gaps, determining needs, and developing/delivering training
  • Skills in managing claims and receiving operations, ensuring policy/procedure compliance (e.g., cold chain, hazardous materials), timely claim processing, handling issues, and maintaining documentation

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, pricing, signing, inventory, cleanliness, trend assessment, stocking/rotation, displays, and securing fragile/high-shrink merchandise
  • Lead and develop teams by teaching/training, listening, touring stores, providing feedback (Tour to Teach), communicating/collaborating on operations/technology/merchandising/changes, setting expectations, and aligning teams with business objectives
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards, manage/support initiatives (e.g., community outreach), resolve customer issues/complaints, develop action plans, and lead process improvements for high-quality experiences
  • Provide supervision/development for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting/recognition/communicating expectations, ensuring awareness, and recruiting to meet staffing/growth needs
  • Control merchandise loss and improve profitability by identifying/communicating goals, building policy accountability, measuring adherence, reviewing variances/inventories, conducting audits/reviews, monitoring trends, identifying improvements, and training on controls across stores
  • Detect, deter, investigate, and resolve policy violations/criminal activities by investigating fraud/illegals, gathering evidence/statements, writing reports, providing testimony, and partnering with investigative entities
  • Monitor safety/risk controls by ensuring effective safety programs, supervising teams, identifying accident trends, developing/implementing prevention solutions, observing practices, training on techniques, communicating plans, and overseeing reviews/improvements
  • Manage facility training/execution of asset protection, safety, claims, and receiving procedures by reviewing policy/compliance application, identifying gaps, determining needs, and developing/delivering training
  • Manage claims/receiving operations by ensuring policy/procedure adherence, timely processing of claims (damaged/defective/returned/liquidated) and deliveries, providing direction on issues, and maintaining documentation
