  • Ability to manage facility-level training on asset protection, safety, claims, and receiving procedures, identifying gaps, determining needs, and delivering training
  • Skills in managing claims and receiving operations, ensuring policy compliance (e.g., cold chain, hazardous materials), timely processing of claims and deliveries, providing direction, and maintaining documentation

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, cleanliness, assessing economic trends and community needs, overseeing stocking/rotation, setting up displays, and securing fragile/high-shrink merchandise
  • Lead and develop teams by teaching/training associates, actively listening, touring stores/providing feedback (Tour to Teach), communicating/collaborating on operations/technology/merchandising/company direction, introducing changes, providing expectations/guidance, and communicating business objectives
  • Model/demonstrate exceptional customer service standards, follow OBW model, manage/support initiatives (e.g., store of the community, outreach), resolve customer needs/complaints/issues, develop/implement action plans for deficiencies, and provide process improvement leadership
  • Provide supervision/development for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, providing recognition, communicating consistently, ensuring awareness, and recruiting/developing associates for staffing/growth
  • Control unexplained loss/improve profitability by identifying/communicating goals, building accountability for policies/procedures, measuring adherence, reviewing inventory variances, conducting operational/pre-inventory reviews, gathering/auditing data, monitoring trends, identifying improvements, and training on controls across stores

  • Manage claims/receiving operations by ensuring proper policies/procedures, timely processing of claims (damaged/defective/returned/liquidated items) and deliveries (suppliers/third-party), providing direction for issues, and maintaining documentation
