Requirements

Candidates must have 2+ years of experience in the door and trim industry and a strong knowledge of all aspects of new construction. They should demonstrate the ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and construction documents, as well as successfully interact with all organizational levels and the public. Proficiency in using computers and business-related software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, is required. A high level of commitment and individual responsibility, along with solid verbal and written communication skills, is essential. Candidates must possess or be able to acquire a valid driver's license, a valid forklift operator's license, and medical first-aid and CPR certificates within 60 days. The role demands physical capability, including walking, climbing ladders, lifting heavy objects, and working in various environmental conditions. Candidates must be able to work mandated hours, pass a drug test, be mobile in the work environment, and travel 100% Monday-Friday from Georgia to Virginia.

Responsibilities

The Traveling Superintendent is responsible for the overall management and coordination of field operations for assigned jobs, ensuring adherence to cost, profit, quality, safety, and customer service objectives. This includes coordinating and monitoring subcontractor performance, ensuring fulfillment of all contract obligations and code acceptance, and maintaining daily communication with project managers, subcontractors, customers, and other UFP facilities. Responsibilities also involve processing required paperwork, conducting safety and cleanup audits, maintaining an organized and clean job site, and attending preconstruction meetings to provide input. The superintendent will enforce company policies, attend training sessions and company/customer meetings, maintain a positive company image, and ensure the use of personal protective equipment and a safe job site. They will act as the primary UFP representative, coordinating communications between customers, UFP, and subcontractors. Key duties include advising management on progress and problems, reviewing plans and specifications, developing and communicating delivery schedules, and monitoring progress to ensure timely project completion. The role also involves interacting with Sales, Design, Production, and Transportation departments to ensure seamless project delivery, establishing and managing quality standards, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Preparing reports and performing other required duties are also part of the responsibilities.
