Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the activities of the area, ensuring trained personnel, sufficient and high-quality spare parts, to maintain dies in optimal condition, produce quality products, and achieve acceptable performance
  • Review downtime in the department to develop action plans
  • Audit the Tool Room Operating System to ensure the effectiveness of activities and system follow-up
  • Provide support to Line and Bench Technicians to prevent line stoppages or customer complaints
  • Develop improvement plans for the tools with the highest impact on scrap and downtime
  • Develop competencies for area leaders (leadership, project development, design, etc.)
  • Training for newly hired technicians
  • Support as a technical advisor for complex problems in the area
  • Follow-up on the manufacturing of spare parts in the Toolshop area to meet the production requirements of the Tool Room
  • Improve tools to reduce costs due to damage or consumption
  • Develop RPS projects for adjustments and setups to reduce downtime and increase the plant’s overall OEE
  • Follow-up on the spare parts system to ensure preventive maintenance of tools within the cycle system
