12 years of applicable experience (combination of degree and work history)
Strong understanding of network protocols, architecture, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting and performance optimization
Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., OpenText NOM, Nagios, PRTG Network Monitor, Wireshark)
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef)
Ability to create and maintain network documentation
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Responsibilities

Install, configure, upgrade, and patch network monitoring and management tools
Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and manage alerts for network anomalies
Set up and manage alerts for network anomalies, ensuring a timely response
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all network hardware and software assets
Ensure accurate recording and updating of network inventory changes in real-time
Work with network engineers, IT support teams, and other stakeholders to meet network inventory needs
Continuously monitor and fine-tune performance of Information Systems
Create, update, and comply with SOPs and other documentation
Diagnose and resolve complex network issues
Generate actionable insights from network data
Communicate effectively with IT staff and stakeholders
Work collaboratively in a team environment
