Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (preference for Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil engineering)
Or Bachelor's degree in engineering technology from a program accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET
Or Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Professional Engineer (PE) license
Responsibilities
Provide engineering project management support to Planning and Engineering organizations, managing and executing special projects and cross-functional needs for Capital and O&M plans
Organize efforts for efficient solutions, standardization, best practices, timely solutions, and effective resource use
Support process improvement efforts related to Standards, production processes, and compliance
Identify the "best for AEP" solution considering all cross-functional implications
Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities of others within the work group
Communicate across boundaries and effectively manage change
Coordinate needs and support for planning, engineering, project management, operations, construction, and maintenance groups impacted by initiatives
Develop project estimates and internal budgets for assigned activities
Identify, clarify, resolve, and initiate solutions to complex problems requiring multi-functional or organizational interfacing and multi-disciplined analytical techniques
Develop plans for identifying and mitigating risks associated with efforts
Make some technical decisions based on calculated risks without management review
Identify and present to management key decisions affecting strategy and execution
Ensure all work activities are performed according to plan, established schedules, company policies, practices, standards, rules, and external regulations
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, presenting clear and concise communications on effort, progress, and results to management and others
