Requirements

  • Law degree from an accredited university or law school
  • Admission to the bar of at least one US State
  • 2-5 years of professional work experience, preferably within Multi-family housing
  • Fair Housing law experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Property Management Systems
  • Eligible to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship)

Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate and review a variety of commercial contracts
  • Draft and revise housing agreements, leases and other relevant real estate documents
  • Assist and advise Paralegals in the preparation of contracts and external communications
  • Respond to escalated resident complaints, attorneys and agencies, with respect to issues arising under State and Federal Fair Housing laws, rules and regulations
  • Respond to vendor and resident disputes
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation matters
  • Coordinate with inside and outside counsel on entity and asset acquisitions
  • Perform legal due diligence analysis with respect to potential acquisitions and provide guidance
