Position Overview

Ashby is seeking a Recruiter with a proven track record of discovering and hiring exceptional Engineering talent. In this role, you will own the end-to-end development and execution of recruitment strategies to find exceptional talent to fill critical Software Engineer, Product Management, Design, Engineering Leadership, and IT roles.

Success in this role over the next six months will involve attracting, evaluating, and hiring high-quality candidates to meet our hiring needs.

Ashby is experiencing amazing growth driven by interest in our product. As a People Team, we need to expand our capacity to hire. Our hiring managers have been doing most of the recruiting with support from a lean recruiting team. As we plan for late 2025 and beyond, we recognize the need for wider recruiting support, hence this role opening.

The Role

  • Focus on filling critical Software Engineer, Product Management, Design, Engineering Leadership, and IT roles.

Resume Feedback from Hiring Manager

  • Full Lifecycle Recruiting Experience: Resumes should show minimal experience as a Full Lifecycle Recruiter, specifically recruiting for Software Engineering roles. We will only hire someone with deep SWE hiring experience.
  • Focus on Delivery: Role descriptions on resumes should focus on the delivery of hires for Engineering roles, rather than solely on projects or leadership. Evidence of actual recruiting work is crucial.
  • Product-Led Engineering Environment Experience: Resumes should demonstrate experience hiring in a Product-led Engineering environment, ideally with SaaS experience.
  • Demonstrate Impact: Articulate the impact you had in past roles. A data-driven mindset is valued, and data can show this impact.
  • Application Question Responses: Answers to application questions should provide context and demonstrate real meaning for Ashby, going beyond what is stated on your resume.
  • Specificity: Avoid general statements. For example, "Recruited a variety of roles" is less effective than specifying "handled Software Engineering recruiting." Similarly, providing a brief blurb about a company helps clarify its sector (e.g., "Product-led organization").
