Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience, with over 8 years of professional project management experience in software development, data science, and AI. A demonstrated technical background, ideally as an engineer in a related field, is required, along with knowledge of AI model research and development processes and related compliance issues like the EU AI Act. Expertise in open-source software development, the PyData ecosystem, and GitHub, including repository management and process improvement for GitHub-based organizations, is essential. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are necessary to influence without authority and adapt to dynamic environments. Experience with Python or C++ programming, data science, or partnering with research teams to define technical requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Technical Program Manager will collaborate closely with software engineering and product teams to develop and maintain roadmaps, defining project scope, goals, and deliverables. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining detailed project plans, refining processes for transitioning research outputs to products, and managing release-related activities such as compliance and security reviews. The role involves coordinating with internal and external partners, championing the ethical usage of data throughout the model building lifecycle, and ensuring compliance with responsible development practices. Additionally, the TPM will assist in building critical metrics and program schedules to measure release health and achievements, and lead the definition and refinement of software development processes and technologies to enhance project delivery.
