Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of professional Android app development experience, with a preference for 7+ years shipping consumer apps or enterprise apps and SDKs. Proficiency in Kotlin, modern Android architectures (MVVM, MVI), RxJava/Coroutines/Flow, Jetpack Compose, and common libraries is required. Experience with collaborative development, git, code reviews, unit testing, and Agile/Scrum processes is essential. Strong computer science fundamentals, design patterns, and the ability to mentor engineers are also necessary. Preferred experience includes tech lead roles, Dagger, Realm, Sqlite, JNI, PyTorch, TypeScript, Kotlin Multiplatform, BLE, SDK development, functional programming, systems architecture, performance optimization, asynchronous work across time zones, firmware collaboration, app release management, CI/CD, and health/wellness/wearable product development.

Responsibilities

The Senior Android Engineer will design, build, and maintain high-quality code for the team's roadmap, collaborating closely with Product Managers and Designers. They will work with Android colleagues across the US and EU to improve the codebase and contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and platform-level improvements. The role involves taking ownership of projects, designing technical solutions, driving implementation, and delivering results with minimal guidance.
