Requirements

Candidates should possess a strong technical background with at least 2 years of experience in complex environments or relevant educational experience in automation, including basic electrical, programming, and mechanical knowledge. Experience in robotics is not required, but a strong interest in the domain and a desire to apply expertise in a new area are highly valued. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, a focus on user impact and execution, and the ability to thrive in dynamic, ambitious environments. Candidates must be self-driven, optimistic, creative, and resourceful, with a proactive approach to simplicity, reliability, and velocity. Up to 50% domestic travel is expected.

Responsibilities

The Applications Engineer will design solutions around the Standard Bots RO1 robot in collaboration with sales and customers. Responsibilities include installing, programming, and verifying these solutions in the field, and providing ongoing support to customers. The role also involves developing proof-of-concept systems to demonstrate the robot's capabilities, creating supporting materials such as sample code, white papers, and application notes, and assisting in-house engineering with the design and testing of new features and integrations. Additionally, the Applications Engineer will develop marketing collateral to aid in customer base growth.
