Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Computer Science, or Robotics, and have 2-3 years of professional experience in robotics, QA, test engineering, or an autonomy-related role. Experience with Linux-based systems, command line tools, and scripting languages like Python or Bash is required, along with familiarity with task management tools such as Jira or Notion and test tracking systems. A strong understanding of basic software development workflows, version control (Git), and CI systems is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Autonomy Test Engineer will design, build, and maintain frameworks for testing and validating autonomy software systems, including perception, localization, planning, and control. They will develop tools for analyzing autonomy stack behavior and create/configure simulation environments for testing edge cases and regression scenarios. This role involves collaborating with autonomy engineers to define test plans, analyzing system logs to identify root causes of issues, and authoring test cases for new autonomy features. The engineer will also coordinate testing schedules, maintain technical reports for bugs, and ensure tests reflect real-world situations and robot challenges.
