Proven experience as a system administrator or in a similar role is required, along with proficiency in administering Windows, Linux, or Unix-based systems. A strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies is essential, as well as familiarity with virtualization technologies.
The System Administrator will be responsible for the installation and configuration of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications at various locations within the DMV area. They will set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and passwords, and configure network services such as DNS, DHCP, and VPN. Regular system maintenance tasks will be performed, including software updates and troubleshooting issues proactively. They will implement and maintain security measures, conduct security audits, and respond to security incidents. The role also involves managing network infrastructure, providing technical support to end-users, creating documentation, and collaborating with IT staff to plan and execute IT projects.
