Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) and track record demonstrating applicable work experience (typically >8 years in similar workforce role)
Strong interpersonal skills (both Japanese and English), including the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in both oral and written forms at any level within the organization
Ability to mentor and teach technical learnings to strengthen organizational foundation
Ability to work independently and self-manage workload by creating strategy and priority activities, and to remain flexible and adaptable to changing business needs
Travel up to 25%, mainly in Asia Pacific region
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50lb, and any other physical/environment requirements

Responsibilities

Lead a functional team leveraging change management and good problem-solving principles to plan and lead strategic projects, primarily associated with operating margin expansion
Work closely in multi-faceted teams to focus on process improvements, mostly within consumables manufacturing
Execute and lead characterization of manufacturing processes to drive improvements to manufacturing capability
Solve complex problems by using perspective and leveraging experience, and act as a resource to junior associates
Leverage expanded knowledge and practical expertise of manufacturing processes, machinery, and project management to lead cross-functional cost savings funnel building and execution
Help set function strategy and lead cross-functional teams and projects with moderate resource and risk requirements to solve complex problems with a structured approach that supports that strategy
Actively lead structured problem solving (DMAIC, PSP, VRK, etc.) and make decisions based on data and advanced statistical analytics
Identify and follow organized work structure and project management that establishes actions, dates, and accountability (daily management, Project VPM, etc.) between multidisciplinary teams
Execute and lead engineering solutions to drive operational margin expansion
