Responsibilities

  • Scrubs for, prepares, sets-up and assists during any surgical procedure
  • Provides support to nursing and ancillary departments by transporting and transferring patients to and between units when necessary
  • Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures
  • Collects and handles specimens according to policy and procedures
  • Handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during complex surgical procedures in Cardiac, Neurosurgical, Neuro-interventional, and Transplant specialties
  • Ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and maintains the sterile field
