Requirements

Candidates should possess a Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience. Proven leadership skills are required, demonstrating the ability to execute large, complex technical initiatives and manage and lead engineers. Extensive experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, fluency in Python, including standard scientific computing libraries, and a proven track record of designing, developing, and deploying ML solutions for autonomous vehicles or robotics are necessary. Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles, including software design, source control management, build processes, code reviews, and testing methods, is also required.

Responsibilities

The Principal Engineer, Team Lead will define and execute motion planning and prediction projects to improve self-driving vehicles’ capabilities. They will lead, manage, and grow a team of engineers, design and lead the implementation of behavior models leveraging ML advancements, productionize and deploy solutions onto autonomous vehicle fleets, and collaborate with various teams to validate and enhance on-road performance. Furthermore, they will communicate strategies and progress to executive leadership.
