Timescale is a product-led growth organization focused on empowering businesses with real-time insights from their data. They are building a modern PostgreSQL cloud platform and are looking for a Staff Industrial Developer Advocate to serve as the face of Timescale to the industrial developer ecosystem, with a strong focus on energy and manufacturing sectors. This is a strategic, public-facing, and partnership-heavy role.

Requirements

  • Deep technical understanding of data engineering and time-series databases.
  • Domain fluency in energy and manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong public presence and communication skills.
  • Ability to combine technical expertise with industry knowledge.
  • Experience with system integrators (SIs), cloud hyperscalers, and industrial tech partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Timescale’s voice and presence in the industrial developer community (esp. energy and manufacturing verticals).
  • Engage deeply with ecosystem partners (SIs, hyperscalers, industrial platforms) to:
    • Co-author technical content.
    • Co-host webinars, roundtables, and joint events.
    • Build and scale reference implementations and GTM plays.
  • Translate Timescale’s infrastructure into compelling industry-specific narratives: edge-to-cloud analytics, predictive maintenance, event processing, asset tracking, and more.
  • Represent Timescale at industry and developer events, panels, webinars, and conferences.
  • Serve as a high-touch advisor to key customers, champions, and stakeholders in the industrial space.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to bring customer use cases and technical feedback directly into our roadmap.
  • Produce technical content and demos tailored for industrial practitioners (engineers, architects).
