Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and have at least 5 years of experience in a developer advocacy or technical sales role, with a strong preference for experience in the industrial technology sector. Demonstrated expertise in database technologies, particularly PostgreSQL, is essential, along with a deep understanding of industrial applications such as SCADA, predictive maintenance, and edge computing. Strong communication and presentation skills are required, as is the ability to build relationships with developers and partners.

Responsibilities

The Staff Industrial Developer Advocate will lead Timescale’s voice and presence in the industrial developer community, focusing on energy and manufacturing sectors, by engaging deeply with ecosystem partners, co-authoring technical content, and co-hosting webinars and events. They will translate Timescale’s infrastructure into compelling industry-specific narratives, representing the company at industry and developer events, and serving as a high-touch advisor to key customers and stakeholders. Furthermore, this role involves working with Product and Engineering to bring customer use cases and technical feedback directly into the product roadmap, and producing technical content and demos tailored for industrial practitioners.
