Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in video production, preferably in sports, sponsored video, or branded content
  • Strong freelancer network
  • The ability to identify and book freelance talent
  • Must have experience editing in Adobe Premiere
  • Basic proficiency in color correction, audio mixing preferred
  • Experience fostering a culture of creativity and experimentation
  • A track record of setting and exceeding both individual and team goals
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Pre-production collaboration with the digital newsroom
  • Work with Strategy & Operations team to respond to RFPs, including pitching original video concepts
  • Book and manage freelance production specialists, including field crews, video editors and post-production
  • Manage production budgets, ensuring projects remain on-time and on-budget
  • Review edits of commercially supported video content
  • Ensure adherence to The Athletic’s style guides and editorial standards in all videos
  • Field production and some light video editing may be required
