Requirements

  • Preferred field(s) of study: Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the mission of NYCEDC
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience in using database and presentation tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Responsibilities

  • Working within Commercial and Industrial South portfolio on real estate assets that span across Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island
  • Assist in market research, due diligence, and financial analysis for active and prospective projects
  • Assist in drafting Request for Proposals (RFPs), Scopes of Work, and feasibility analyses for leasing and development opportunities
  • Contribute to financial modeling and valuation of active assets and development opportunities
  • Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and memos for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support lease negotiations and the preparation of related documents and analyses
  • Participate in project management, construction, and environmental remediation meetings
  • Engage with local stakeholders through task forces, community engagement initiatives, and public programming
  • Assist Portfolio Managers with lease administration, compliance tracking, and portfolio performance monitoring
  • Provide general support to the Commercial and Industrial South team on cross-departmental initiatives and special projects as needed
