Candidates should have experience in the design of repair and restoration of a building’s primary structural elements and experience in forensics and evaluating existing structures. Proficiency in technical oral and written communication is required, along with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently. A high level of attention to detail is essential, and candidates should have the ability to coordinate with and support other engineers when needed. Timely communication with clients and meeting deadlines is necessary, and ideally, candidates should hold a PE license.
The Structural Engineer will manage repair and restoration projects from initial forensics through construction and perform building forensic investigations. They will evaluate damage and deterioration of structures, conduct structural analysis of existing structures, and prepare plans and specifications for bidding and permitting of repair and restoration projects. The role includes preparing technical and inspection reports and permit close-out documents, performing field observations during construction, managing field inspectors and staff engineers, assisting staff with report and proposal preparation, and overseeing and reviewing reports prepared by staff engineers.
