Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in industry (corporate development/strategy, investment banking, management consulting, private equity/venture capital, or related fields)
  • Experience gained through direct involvement in corporate strategy and/or M&A transaction execution with cross-functional coordination (incl. financial analysis, due diligence, project coordination, etc.)
  • Experience with financial analysis and building valuation models
  • Experience working and coordinating cross-functional teams for diligence and project execution
  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications applicable to above skills
  • Strong writing skills and expertise at summarizing quantitative data and strategic considerations in charts and graphics
  • Adapts well to change and meets commitments in a deadline-driven environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (preferable)
  • Knowledge of the energy industry (power and gas) (preferable)
  • Minimum education is HS Diploma or equivalency
  • Strong grasp of financial statements and valuation analysis
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, and collaborative work approach from peer level up to executives

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate/orchestrate projects and commitments directly involving Vistra’s Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer and SVP, Corporate Strategy
  • Develop ad hoc reports / presentations to meet evolving needs
  • Build and develop financial valuation models for evaluation of M&A, strategic, and innovation opportunities
  • Assist in the evaluation of potential M&A deals, gathering information and preparing materials for senior leadership review
  • Coordinate teams of subject matter experts for diligence and execution of M&A, strategy, and innovation-related projects
  • Support the creation of industry benchmarking tools
  • Conduct industry analysis and research
  • Perform other duties as assigned
