Requirements

  • 5-6+ years experience in direct sourcing
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Advanced experience in the Sourcing & Commodity Management

Responsibilities

  • Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels
  • Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers
  • Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement
  • Manage claims
  • Perform commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. (may include purchasing activities)
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements
  • Explain information, develop skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field, convey performance expectations, and handle sensitive issues
  • Function with some autonomy subject to functional practices, precedents, or well-defined policies; modify procedures as long as end results meet standards
  • Use judgment to propose solutions outside set parameters for complicated day-to-day problems, prioritize information for data analysis, and use technical experience and multiple sources for decisions
