The Opportunity: Strategic Relations / Business Development

Are you a strategic thinker, self-motivated, and possess a proven track record in government business development with a mission-driven approach? If you excel at navigating complex organizations and challenging selling environments, this is a game-changing opportunity for you.

Flock is building a Strategic Relations/Business Development team to engage with leaders in major metropolitan markets and establish the foundation for Flock Safety to solve more crime. This role is pivotal in driving Flock Safety's growth, with a focus on highly populated major metro areas. You will collaborate cross-functionally with sales, government affairs, consultants, and Flock Safety leadership to engage a diverse range of stakeholders. The position requires regional travel up to 50% during peak seasons.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive key account strategies that align with the organization's overall objectives.

Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, government officials, and industry partners, to foster collaboration and identify new opportunities.

Opportunity Identification:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including contracts, partnerships, and initiatives that align with the organization's capabilities and strategic goals.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including sales, government affairs, lobbyists, consultants, and the executive team, to unlock sales opportunities.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working with government and public safety technology.

Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of law enforcement operations, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements.

Skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in market analysis and proposal development.

First 30 Days:

Understand the Accounts, the Business, and the Industry:

  • Review Flock Safety’s customer base.
  • Study past performance metrics: win rates, revenue trends, and customer feedback.
  • Research competitors and their strategies.
  • Identify strategic areas for engagement.

Internal Alignment:

  • Meet with internal stakeholders to understand account histories, strategies, and existing challenges.
  • Evaluate tools and processes used for managing accounts.
