Requirements

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or accounting within a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment, or in consulting, banking, or investment-related roles. Strong financial analysis and reporting skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, are essential. Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel with complex formulas and data modeling is required, along with excellent communication skills for presenting financial insights to diverse stakeholders. An understanding of relevant accounting standards and compliance requirements like GAAP, SEC regulations, and tax laws is also necessary. A Bachelor's or advanced degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration, and experience managing core accounting functions or relevant certifications like CPA, CMA, or CFA are considered nice-to-have qualifications.

Responsibilities

The Strategic Finance Lead will oversee FP&A activities including budgeting, financial forecasting, and monthly/quarterly financial reporting to leadership and the board. They will manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and billing, and oversee day-to-day financial operations such as reimbursements and departmental budget tracking. This role involves meeting with budget owners monthly to discuss spending and remaining budgets, and working with external accountants for monthly book closing and tax matters. Additionally, the lead will provide strategic guidance to senior management on financial and operational issues, including pricing and deal support, and develop/implement financial policies and procedures for compliance.
