Position Overview

As the Manager of Financial Planning, you will support, scale, and develop a team that delivers proactive financial advice to Wealthsimple clients. This role requires an experienced financial planner with CFP certification to foster talent, cultivate growth, and drive alignment in a fast-changing, high-volume sales environment. You will be building and nurturing a team of high-performance, tech-powered planners who help clients take action and drive business growth, empowering Canadians to reach their financial freedom goals.


Responsibilities

  • Foster and Develop World-Class Talent: Retain, build, and grow a team of curious, tech-savvy planners by coaching sales skills, fostering accountability, and creating clear paths for growth.
  • Scale a Fast-Growing, High Volume Advice Business: Create scalable systems and operating rhythms that allow planners to deliver quality advice efficiently while remaining adaptable to growth and evolution.
  • Drive Alignment and Performance in a Changing Environment: Drive key metrics (net deposits, conversion, productivity, NPS) through relentless data analysis, keeping the team aligned to evolving priorities and equipped with clear expectations and context for success.
  • Deliver a Modern Client Experience: Provide a simple, action-oriented client experience that is tech-powered yet human-first, collaborating cross-functionally to continuously improve financial advice delivery.

Requirements

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
  • A Sales Leader & Talent Magnet: Proven ability to drive outcomes in fast-paced environments and attract/retain adaptable, growth-oriented people.
  • A Builder: Experience scaling processes, teams, or businesses, with a comfort level operating in ambiguity.
  • A Clear, Contextual Communicator: Ability to bring clarity in fast-changing environments and ensure team alignment and focus.
  • Highly Data-Driven: Proficient in using numbers to guide coaching, process improvements, and strategic decisions.
  • Tech-Forward: Belief that technology enables better advice, more scale, and better outcomes, with experience leveraging AI to support this.
  • Adaptable: Thrives in growth environments where change is constant, viewing it as an opportunity.
