Requirements

Candidates must possess at least 8 years of progressive experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or a similar role, with 2-3 years in a technical leadership or staff-level capacity. A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required, along with 10+ years of development experience in multiple programming languages like C/C++, Rust, Python, or Go. Deep experience in building and maintaining robust test automation frameworks, strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git, and collaborative development workflows are essential. Preferred qualifications include understanding of vehicle electrical architecture, experience with open-source automation frameworks like Robot, building hardware-in-the-loop test platforms, and 5+ years in Automotive SW Test or Development.

Responsibilities

The Staff Test Developer will lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced test automation frameworks, tools, and infrastructure for AV sensing software. Responsibilities include defining and driving the overall test strategy for complex features and end-to-end systems, evaluating and recommending new technologies and best practices to improve testing efficiency, and contributing to architectural design reviews with a focus on testability, reliability, and performance. The role involves driving a culture of quality, advocating for shift-left testing, developing and maintaining automated tests in languages such as C++, Rust, Go, and Python, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and implementing monitoring and alerting for production systems.
