Requirements

Candidates should have over 6 years of professional software development experience with a proven history of building and maintaining high-quality software that drives business impact. They must demonstrate the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Experience with code reviews, implementing best practices for scalable and maintainable code, and designing/implementing scalable and robust system architectures is essential. The role also requires the ability to provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers, and foster a culture of continuous learning and quality engineering. Preferred experience includes Ruby on Rails, Golang, and operational tooling such as routing, labor planning, ticket systems, and task prioritization.

Responsibilities

The Staff Software Engineer will lead projects in collaboration with other engineers, product managers, and operations to achieve key objectives. They will be responsible for the technical direction and engineering quality of the team, identifying and solving technical problems to raise engineering standards and influence technical decisions. This role involves scrutinizing and reasoning clearly about technology and architecture choices, often making final decisions. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and full-cycle incident response, mentoring and leading other engineers, advising the leadership team on technology adoption and process improvements, and participating in software engineering interviews to help build the team. The engineer will also contribute to shaping the overall engineering culture at the company.
