Position Overview

Collectors is the leading creator of innovative technology that provides value-added services for collectors worldwide. We grade, authenticate, vault, and sell millions of record-setting collectibles, all while modernizing and digitalizing the process to further our mission of helping collectors pursue their passions. Our services span collectible coins, trading cards, Funko Pops!, video games, event tickets, autographs, and memorabilia. Our subsidiaries include PSA, PCGS, SGC, WATA, and Card Ladder.

Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 1,900 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana and offices in Jersey City, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Toronto, Guadalajara, Dallas, and Paris.

We’re transforming the collecting experience with technology that brings authentication, grading, and trading into the modern era. Our products are equalizing the playing field by providing tools that make complex research analytics—including pricing, scarcity reports, and historic sales data—accessible to every collector, old or new. Our engineering mission is to democratize technology while promoting innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning throughout the organization. We're seeking engineers to utilize advanced technology in agile settings, with a focus on improving the customer experience for every collector.

Our dynamic Internal Platforms team builds and maintains a robust and scalable platform that underpins Collectors’ engineering teams by providing IT, Networking, CloudOps, DevOps, Database, and QA best practices, in turn enabling rapid, secure, and stable application delivery.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Quality Transformation role to spearhead a transformative shift in our approach to quality, leading the cultural and technical transition of testing responsibilities from a dedicated QA organization to our agile engineering teams and fostering a 'quality is everyone's responsibility' culture. This pivotal role involves architecting, implementing, and championing a comprehensive quality governance framework to support this new paradigm of developer-led quality. You will be responsible for driving the overall quality strategy, designing and maintaining robust automation frameworks, and embedding quality principles throughout the SDLC. This includes defining test architectures and advising on quality governance to enhance the SDLC, ensuring our solutions effectively handle high volumes of global traffic through both backend and frontend automation across multiple agile teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Champion and orchestrate the strategic transition of testing responsibilities from a centralized QA function to our agile engineering teams, actively cultivating a culture where quality is an integral part of every engineer's role.
  • Define, implement, and automate quality gates and critical checkpoints within the CI/CD pipeline to ensure rigorous adherence to established quality standards prior to any production releases.
  • Architect, implement, and champion a comprehensive quality governance framework designed to support and sustain this new paradigm of developer-led quality.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams on test automation best practices, code quality for test scripts, and effective test case design to ensure high-quality, reliable automation suites.
  • Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and documentation on quality engineering principles, testing methodologies, automation techniques, and emerging best practices.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to gather requirements, review specifications, and plan testing activities.
  • Oversee test case creation, test execution, and defect management to ensure thorough and effective testing.
  • Lead and coordinate the testing process for new product features across multiple agile teams.
