Requirements

  • Eight or more years of backend engineering experience, with at least two years as a Staff or Principal Engineer
  • Experience from a regulated environment, with a strong preference for a background in fintech
  • Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures (AWS) and highly skilled in either .NET or Java
  • Excel in API-first design, event-driven systems, service orchestration, and defining clean, clear contract boundaries
  • Strategic thinker who thrives on cross-functional collaboration
  • Bias for simplicity and pragmatism, driven to ship quickly without compromising on quality
  • Proven track record of coaching and mentoring engineers
  • Ability to define and execute a long-term technical vision
  • Instinct for taking initiative and owning outcomes
  • Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Drive the long-term technical strategy for the Platforms pillar, ensuring solutions are built for global scale
  • Coach and mentor engineering teams, providing technical leadership for complex distributed systems challenges
  • Design, build, and evolve core platform and marketplace capabilities with focus on robustness and extensibility
  • Lead critical technical discussions and architectural decisions
  • Partner with Product Managers, Designers, Backend and Frontend Engineers, and other teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Proactively identify opportunities to elevate engineering standards and foster continuous improvement
  • Champion best practices in code, architecture, and operational readiness across the organization
