Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a focus on building scalable back-end systems and platforms
  • Deep experience integrating and scaling storage systems, cloud-native services, and related open source projects, including the Kubernetes ecosystem, AWS, and PostgreSQL
  • Knowledge of common DevOps tools and practices
  • Firm grasp of quality and security engineering principles. Understanding the "why" behind technical decisions
  • A vision for what great software and great engineering looks like, and the technical expertise and leadership skills to make that vision a reality
  • Excellent systems-level thinking – the ability to understand the components of a distributed system and their interactions

Responsibilities

  • Scale the data processing and storage layer from terabytes to petabytes and beyond, keeping pace with an exponentially growing customer base and dataset
  • Build and maintain bidirectional, real-time integrations with dozens of EHRs, scaling to hundreds or thousands of integrations
  • Drive improvements to core systems to unlock 100x growth in the number of practices, patients, and developers relying on the platform
  • Own cross-functional projects end-to-end, from technical design and decomposition to successful launch and rollout
  • Partner with engineering leaders and product managers to generate, prioritize, and deliver on ambitious engineering goals
