Candidates should have demonstrated experience building products that leverage large scale data sets using Node.js/Typescript, strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and scalability principles. Experience with systems level debugging, networking, performance profiling, tuning, Agile processes, rapid iterative development, cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker, and Linux/systems knowledge is required. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a similar field, prior experience with data-intensive applications or data streams processing, and a willingness to speak their mind are also necessary.
The Senior Software Engineer will help set the technical direction for Stream by identifying, designing, developing, and delivering products. They will develop software for backend systems and APIs responsible for ingesting, processing, and routing data, and design, develop, test, and maintain robust code. Responsibilities include partnering with cross-functional teams, creating test plans with automated tests, mentoring junior engineers, and having end-to-end ownership of developed software, including participation in the on-call rotation. Driving initiatives to help the larger team achieve outcomes, even outside their direct job description, is also expected.
