Requirements

  • At least 10 years of professional software development with expertise in backend systems; proven track record of leading architecture for distributed platforms
  • Deep proficiency in Java (JDK 21), Spring Boot, Kafka, Cassandra, and large-scale data processing frameworks (Spark, Airflow)
  • Strong background in designing multi-tenant, cloud-native systems (Azure/GCP) with emphasis on scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Adept at breaking down complex problems into actionable solutions while balancing trade-offs across performance, cost, and delivery speed
  • Ownership-driven, passionate about technology, eager to learn and experiment with emerging paradigms (AI workflows/agents, automation)
  • Strong understanding of SQL & SQL tuning
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence, align, and partner with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders globally
  • Strong creative, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, unit testing, automated frontend testing
  • Ability to build high quality code by conducting unit testing and enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects

Responsibilities

  • Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community
  • Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set priorities, and deliver awesome products
  • Work closely with Distinguished & Principal Architects and cross-functional teams and follow established practices for the delivery of solutions meeting QCD (Quality, Cost, and Delivery) within the established architectural guidelines
  • Participate in hiring and building teams enabling them to be high-performing agile teams
  • Work with engineering teams to create high-level and low-level designs and drive designs
  • Come up with quality, best practices, and other Non-functional standards and guide the teams to execute them along with helping them with overall technical and design aspects
  • Help implement cutting-edge models and algorithms that operate on massive amounts of data
  • Interact with Walmart cross-functional engineering teams like cloud, platform, analytics, etc. across geographies to leverage technical expertise and contribute to the engineering community
