Requirements

  • 8 years of product management experience in card issuing or transaction processing, ideally within a fast-paced fintech or payments environment
  • Deep understanding of card scheme protocols (Visa/Mastercard), transaction lifecycles, and ISO8583-based messaging
  • Strong track record of writing technical specifications and working closely with engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable systems
  • Experience integrating with third-party processors, payment gateways, and/or ledger systems
  • Analytical mindset with a passion for monitoring KPIs and driving data-informed improvements
  • Comfortable managing roadmaps aligned to both business strategy and mandatory regulatory/scheme changes
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end processing roadmap – authorisation, clearing, settlement, ledger posting, reconciliation and charge-back flows
  • Translate scheme bulletins into processor requirements – map new authorisation fields, clearing record-types and fee codes into sprint-ready tickets on bulletin release
  • Design resilient transaction flows – define fallback logic (stand-in, dual-message reversal), time-outs and fraud rule triggers to keep approvals high and losses low
  • Lead processor & core-ledger integrations – write detailed interface specs for new (or updated) integrations
  • Partner with Programme Manager & Solution Engineering – ensure new programmes inherit proven processing patterns, meet scheme certification scripts first time and reuse existing digital wallets and KYC flows
  • Monitor live processing KPIs – approval ratio, average latency, mismatch rate, interchange yield; trigger incident post-mortems when thresholds are breached
  • Stay two releases ahead – maintain a processing change backlog aligned to Visa/Mastercard release calendars
