Requirements

7+ years of experience designing and operating high performance infrastructure powering Ads, recommendations/search, or any other consumer facing products
Experience with distributed systems at web scale
Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience with containerization (e.g. Docker) and orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes)
Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, and performance optimization techniques
Experience with DevOps practices (e.g. continuous integration, continuous deployment)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design and implement scalable solutions
Experience with leading large-scale initiatives and mentoring teams
Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies (e.g. serverless computing, serverless APIs)
Experience with data observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana)
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
Experience with technical leadership and mentoring

Responsibilities

Lead the development and maintenance of the Reddit Ads infrastructure, including designing and implementing scalable solutions
Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop and support the Ads infrastructure, including creating and maintaining foundational components
Develop and implement large-scale initiatives, such as re-architecting the Ads infrastructure to enable Ads serving from multiple regions and cloud providers
Identify gaps and emerging opportunities across the Ads infrastructure and lead strategic investments to address them
Work cross-functionally with all Ads engineering and product teams to drive the team's objectives
Partner with the Engineering manager and other leaders to drive the team's long-term roadmap
Develop and maintain documentation and knowledge bases for the Ads infrastructure, including technical guides and best practices
Collaborate with the product team to ensure that the Ads infrastructure is aligned with product requirements and goals
Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code is of high quality and meets the team's standards
Identify and mitigate technical debt, including refactoring and optimizing existing code
Develop and maintain technical specifications and requirements for the Ads infrastructure
Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop and implement new features and enhancements to the Ads infrastructure
