Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex book of relationships consisting of principal and single-family office clients requiring fiduciary, asset servicing, advisory services, banking, technology & reporting, and investment solutions
  • Work closely with family office professionals, family members, and their advisors to understand needs and goals of all stakeholders
  • Assume primary responsibility for overall client satisfaction as the Lead Relationship Manager
  • Administer all fiduciary relationships in accordance with trust terms and Northern Trust’s fiduciary policies and guidelines
  • Provide oversight of delegated investment functions
  • Act as a regional resource for fiduciary matters within their region
  • Work alongside family advisors to identify and implement multi-generational solutions
  • In discretionary investment management, work closely with the Portfolio Manager on portfolio design, asset allocation, and implementation
  • In investment delegation situations, work with external investment advisors on portfolio design, asset allocation, and implementation
  • Oversee all fiduciary appointments in their region
  • Collaborate with team on matters of fiduciary administration and issue spotting
  • Take the lead on fiduciary cross-sell and new business
  • Serve as Lead Relationship Manager responsible for the overall relationship of fiduciary ultra-high net worth clients, developing thorough understanding of needs and goals with family members, family office professionals, and external advisors
  • Administer trusts according to document terms, Northern Trust fiduciary policies and guidelines, and applicable laws (exhibiting thorough knowledge of governing documents and account agreements)
  • Implement and oversee delegation of investment functions to third-party investment advisors
  • Act as Regional Fiduciary Lead responsible for fiduciary oversight of fiduciary appointments within their GFO region
  • Build relationships both internally and externally to service multidisciplinary needs
  • Confidently present Northern Trust offerings and understand major trends in the Family Office space
  • Focus on execution of strategic direction of business function activities
  • Carry out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
  • Display a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity
