Requirements

Two or four-year Degree
Expertise in electrical, mechanical, and control system communication aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including conveyor systems, sortation, robotics, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS)
Ability to use diagnostic software and tools to collect and analyze data, identify trends, and recommend improvements
Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc
Self-starter capable of inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, training, and coaching across various resources and scenarios
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure

Responsibilities

Ensure high equipment availability and optimize system performance using preventive and predictive maintenance processes
Rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and quickly restore equipment to service
Work with engineers and operational partners to optimize performance and flow of material handling equipment
Lead building automation, continuous improvement, and new installation initiatives
Serve as escalated support resource during downtime events, implementing proper processes and training as part of root cause analysis
Proactively monitor the overall health of the building’s material handling equipment
Understand material flow optimization, system controls logic, and facilitate/train effective troubleshooting techniques
Proactively monitor and maintain building systems
Conduct technical interviews for internal and external technician candidates, evaluate technical skills, and train/coach internal technicians
Support training plan development and progress follow-up
Ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards
