Requirements

  • Two or four-year Degree
  • Expertise in electrical, mechanical, and control system communication aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including conveyor systems, sortation, robotics, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS)
  • Ability to use diagnostic software and tools to collect and analyze data, identify trends, and recommend improvements
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc
  • Self-starter capable of inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, training, and coaching across various resources and scenarios
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high equipment availability and optimize system performance using preventive and predictive maintenance processes
  • Rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and quickly restore equipment to service
  • Work with engineers and operational partners to optimize performance and flow of material handling equipment
  • Lead building automation, continuous improvement, and new installation initiatives
  • Serve as escalated support resource during downtime events, implementing proper processes and training as part of root cause analysis
  • Proactively monitor the overall health of the building’s material handling equipment
  • Understand material flow optimization, system controls logic, and facilitate/train effective troubleshooting techniques
  • Proactively monitor and maintain building systems
  • Conduct technical interviews for internal and external technician candidates, evaluate technical skills, and train/coach internal technicians
  • Support training plan development and progress follow-up
  • Ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards
