Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification
Previous roles showcasing proficiencies necessary to fulfill job responsibilities (similar to 5+ years) or equivalent blend of education, training, & experience
Proficiency in SQL and relational database schema
Expertise in relational database platforms: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL
Proficiency in web development and scripting languages like Python and Shell
Familiarity with server environments (Windows, Linux/Unix), Apache, IIS
Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent documentation and communication abilities

Responsibilities

Develop cost and resource estimates for systems development projects
Provide recommendations and compose robust database architectures for enterprise applications
Develop and code system components according to specifications
Lead database development efforts including schema construction, stored procedures, and performance tuning
Prepare and approve system documentation including requirements, specifications, test plans, and user manuals
Perform unit, system, and validation testing
Coordinate with Operations staff for application deployment
Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams for product support and deployment
Work with business partners to analyze and address support requests
Guarantee all development tasks adhere to quality and compliance requirements
Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and security protocols
Troubleshoot complex database and application issues to ensure high availability
Mentor junior developers and guide guidelines in systems and database development
Stay current with new technologies and recommend improvements
