Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean, project management, Business Transformation, or other process oriented roles
  • Demonstrated track record of leading successful improvement projects and delivering measurable business impact
  • Experience implementing Lean practices within SG&A or business support environments strongly preferred
  • Experience working in global, matrixed organizations and influencing without direct authority
  • Exposure to digital enablement, analytics, or automation initiatives desirable but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, engineering, operations, or related field required
  • Advanced degree (MBA or relevant technical field) preferred
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Passion for driving improvement and enabling change in a complex, global organization
  • Strong understanding of SG&A and business support processes, with an ability to translate Lean principles into non-manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate, guide, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior team members
  • Extensive business insight and ability to collaborate across departments like Marketing, Commercial, Finance, R&D, and Customer Service
  • Knowledge of Lean, PPI, or similar continuous improvement frameworks (e.g., DBS, TPS, HOS)
  • Analytical approach with comfort using data and digital tools to identify and sustain improvements
  • Demonstrates a dedication to ethical standards and alignment with Thermo Fisher’s leadership competencies

Responsibilities

  • Support the integration of the PPI Business System within SG&A functions to enhance business performance in aspects like customer experience, financial efficiency, and employee engagement
  • Work closely with business and functional leaders to evaluate workflows and remove inefficiencies, resulting in measurable improvements in key performance indicators
  • Lead and coach cross-functional teams through structured problem-solving, value stream mapping, and Kaizen events to enhance operational excellence
  • Support the development and maturity of functional tiered daily management systems, standard work, and visual management tools
  • Support Strategy Deployment through helping leaders breakdown strategic objectives into clear project plans and further define into process improvement initiatives
  • Build organizational capability by training, mentoring, and coaching teams in Lean fundamentals and PPI tools
  • Collaborate with digital, data, and IT partners to introduce practical digital and analytics-based solutions that improve transparency, automation, and process control
  • Encourage standardization, sharing guidelines, and ongoing learning across business units and functions
  • Track and communicate results through appropriate metrics and reporting mechanisms, ensuring sustainability of implemented improvements
  • Function as a change agent, cultivating a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement that mirrors Thermo Fisher’s mission and values
