Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of general accounting policies and procedures and GAAP
  • In-depth knowledge of local statutory and tax reporting requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of JD Edwards or equivalent is essential
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Proficient in all aspects of accounting and finance
  • Ability to successfully manage the work of financial personnel and interact effectively with non-financial personnel
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Significant experience in a multi-currency environment
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven and multi-tasking environment
  • 8+ years of relevant experience and BA or BS degree in accounting or equivalent
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • CPA qualification is preferred
  • CMA qualification is preferred
  • An MBA is preferred
  • Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry a plus
  • Experience in multi-national organization a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and coordination to professional and clerical staff within the department and cross-functionally
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate review and posting of month end close and accounting transactions; P&L and balance sheet account analysis, review, reconciliation & resolution; and financial analysis
  • Ensures financial records are in compliance with GAAP
  • Consistently maintains appropriate internal controls and upholds company policies & procedures including Worldwide Controller’s manual
  • Interacts successfully with internal and external auditors and supports quarter end, interim and year-end audits by providing timely & accurate data and communication
  • Evaluates processes and recommends & implements process improvements
